Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, I received a degree in Early Childhood Education from Brenau University, Gainesville, Georgia. I met John at church during college and we married in 1987. As John has answered calls in cities across western NC, I have enjoyed a career in education. I taught computer education in the 3rd and 4th grades for Union and Guilford County school systems. Then in 2006 when we were transferred to Boone, I moved to higher education in the alumni office at Appalachian State University.  I also worked in the Office of Student Conduct at UNC Charlotte and for an academic department at UNC Greensboro.

In 2020, John was called to CUMC and we moved to Clemmons at the beginning of the pandemic - an interesting time to be sure! Here at CUMC I served as the lead in developing plans for a celebration of our church’s 150th anniversary on our current site, along with creating videos recounting our rich church history. I was named interim director of Children and Families in Fall of 2023 and as director in spring of 2024.

We have two grown sons and two grandchildren. My hobbies include anything that involves the outdoors.
