YOUNG AT HEART

Our Older Adult Ministry is here for spiritual, emotional and social support.  It celebrates the contributions that our older adults make to the people of our congregation and our community.

We have a vital and active older adult ministry which is led by Barbara Turner.

Some of our on-going activities are:

The Young at Heart group is not currently meeting.

The Golden Needles meets each Tuesday morning from 9:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. in Room 210.  This is mostly a quilting group, but it’s open to anyone who would like to knit, crochet or just come for fellowship.  We quilt on commission and also quilt tops to sell.  All our profits go to missions and the Food Pantry.  Afterwards, we always go out to a local restaurant for lunch.

DOWGS—Dining Out Wednesday Group.  We meet each Wednesday evening at 5:00 P.M. to have dinner together at a restaurant either in the Clemmons area or Winston-Salem.  We meet at 5:00 P.M. to beat the crowd and to allow time for our choir members to get back to church in time for practice.

We often take road trips, some overnight, some are for several nights and some are day trips.  We visit quilt shows, go to the beach or the mountains, see plays, and visit many of the sites in our area.  If we have a group of 10 to 15, we try to reserve the church bus…”leave the driving to us.”
